WHY THE NEED
10 YEAR DREAM PLAN
Consequently, within 10 years we hope to turn the traditional urban church model on its head innovationally by launching Rebuild the City Inc. in the re-building-- if you will—of a modern day “Tuskegee type” Dream Center, that will intentionally be for the empowerment of anyone within the inner city underclass.
Much like Booker T Washington did yesterday for his “Everyday People” in the heart of a Jim Crow south, we here in the heart of an urban wasteland must build a practical and spiritual life skills institution as a “City of Refuge”, that will feed, clothe, house and train our working poor and underclass with morals, discipline and a sense of purpose.
Our “Dream Center” will have an open door policy, made up of many races, nationalities, and cultures, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year, providing hope by meeting both tangible and spiritual needs.
In a “Super-Store Walmart like fashion”, we will provide food, clothing, shelter, life rehabilitation, education and job training, Biblical training and much more through our ministries and outreaches. We will reach thousands of hurting and needy children, families and adults across all races and cultures each week.
Daily, this “Dream Center” will strive to help solve moral decay, crime, drugs, gangs, homelessness and poverty epidemics that exist in our nation’s inner cities. The vision of the Dream Center is to see thousands of hurting people come to know a new life through the efforts of our staff, volunteers, and recently rehabilitated individuals whose lives have been dramatically changed.
Our “Dream Center” will collaborate with people all around the world to reach the lost and help meet the community's most basic and greatest needs.
The Dream Center’s outreaches will provide food, clothing, housing, education, and job training to thousands of individuals who are realizing their potential in life. The Dream Center networks with corporations, non-profit organizations, foundations and individuals from around the world to reach the lost and help meet their most basic needs.
The Dream Center staff will implement programs that meet the needs, help the hurts, and solve the problems of the inner city by developing new and creative methods to communicate a positive message to those who would otherwise not hear it.
Therefore, today Rebuild the City Inc. is intentionally joining non-profit organizations, corporations, foundations and individuals of many denominations from around the world with the common purpose of meeting the spiritual and socioeconomic needs of the inner city.
Our prayer for Rebuild the City Inc. is that one day in the near future our “Dream Center” will serve as a model for inner-city outreaches. Its ideas, tactics and outreaches will multiply as they are duplicated in other cities.
It is imperative that dynamic, life-changing outreaches spring up in the inner cities. These outreaches must understand the unique needs of those who live in their cities. Through training, these once destitute members of society will become productive.
In addition, they, in turn, will offer their services to others in need. Inner-city children will finally be offered hope instead of despair, truth instead of lies, and provision instead of hunger, cold and nakedness. Through the efforts of leaders, volunteers and supporters, the inner city of Atlanta in the near future will stand in stark contrast to its present reality.
Where there was once darkness, there will soon be light. Where there was once despair, there will soon be hope.
The vision of the Dream Center can only be realized through the continued prayer and support and financial giving of thousands across the world. Only with this support can the Dream Center accomplish the great task of helping meet the personal and physical needs of Inner City Atlanta.
