Our vision is to be a part of the collaborative effort to impact issues of moral decay, substance abuse, hunger, health care, chronic homelessness and poverty that exists in the inner city of Atlanta.
The idea for Rebuild the City emerged from 30 years of inner city service. In August of 2011, I had an epiphany that the demise of the inner city was due primarily to impoverished black men who could not protect, provide for, or spiritually guide their families. The long-term socio-economic consequences of this have been devastating. It was then I began RTC as a resolution to redeem these black men to make leaders & positive actors out of those who the status quo had cast off as human refuse.
We who were poor could not play the “human services” game. From these ashes have arisen Rebuild the City!
